Mazria Inc. was established in 1978 as Mazria Associates, Inc. Since its inception, our office has operated like a small design studio where innovation, experimentation and research is encouraged . Our expertise in building and site ecology and its design principles, technologies and applications is the result of this approach to architectural design. We are internationally recognized as a leader in the field of environmental design and daylighting in architecture. Our office is unique in that we apply these principles to all of our projects.
Our firm's work ranges from small single-family residences to large scale commercial and public buildings. Our clients include public and private institutions, corporations, private developers and individuals. Mazria Inc. has gained recognition for its work including design awards from the American Institute of Architects, the American Planning Association, the State of New Mexico, the Association of General Contractors, the New Mexico Business Journal and the American Solar Energy Society. Most recent awards in clude a "Pioneer Award" from the American Solar Energy Society, a "Design In no va tion Award" from the American Institute of Architects Santa Fe Chapter, two awards for the "Best Build ings of New Mexico" from the New Mexico Business Journal for both the Rio Grande Botanic Garden Conservatory and Genoveva Chavez Community Center, two "Best of '99 Grand Awards" for the Genoveva Chavez Community Center from the Southwest Association of General Contractors, and a "1999 Outstanding Planning Award" from the American Planning Association for Tierra Contenta. Our buildings have been published in Architecture, Progressive Ar chi tec ture, Architectural Record, Architectural Digest, Solar Today, The Wall Street Journal, The New Mexico Business Journal and The New York Times to name a few.
